Help with Metonic

A personal timeline for iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Questions, bugs, and feedback are all welcome — it's made by one person, and I read everything.

Email metonic@ungman.com. I aim to reply within a few business days.

Beta testers: the fastest way to report a bug is right inside TestFlight — take a screenshot and send it with a note, or use TestFlight's “Send Feedback.” It reaches me with the build and device details attached.

Common questions

Is there a subscription?

No. Metonic is free to download, and your whole past is free to explore. Unlocking the future — upcoming events in detail, editing, and the weather forecast — is a one-time unlock, per platform; no subscription, no ads.

What's free, and what do I unlock?

Your whole past is free, in full detail — every event you've lived, with the astronomy and past weather of those years, on the zoomable timeline. The one-time unlock opens the future: it renders your upcoming events in full detail (instead of the free shape-only preview), lets you create and edit events, and adds the weather forecast.

Why do my upcoming events look like a heatmap?

That's the free-tier preview of what's ahead. Your upcoming events are all there, synced from your own calendars — the free timeline shows their shape as a density heatmap, so you can still see how full the weeks ahead are at a glance. Unlock the future to render them as full, legible events you can read and edit. Nothing is hidden or lost — it's your calendar, shown as a preview until you unlock.

I'm a beta tester — do I have to pay at launch?

No. If you claimed the free unlock during the beta, it carries over automatically when Metonic reaches the App Store, on the same Apple ID. You keep it for good.

Which platforms are supported?

iPhone, iPad, and Mac today. Android is planned after the initial launch.

How is my calendar data handled?

Metonic reads and writes the calendars already on your device through Apple's Calendar framework. Your events stay in your own accounts; there is no Metonic server holding your data. See the privacy policy.

Can I use Metonic as my main calendar?

It reads and writes the same calendar on your device, so it can be — but it isn't built to be a better Apple Calendar. It's the year-shape view calendars don't give you, and many people run it alongside theirs. It's not a team-scheduling or family-sharing tool.
